1) African Black Soap
The name "Ose Dudu" comes from the Yoruba people of Western Nigeria. "Ose Dudu" simply means black soap. The blackness is attributed to the nature and color of the soap derived from the burning and boiling of various component parts put together to form a natural homogenous soap used daily by the Yorubas to rid the skin of common skin problems like rashes, ring worms, measles, acne and body odors.
It is also a natural hair shampoo. The palm kernel oil effect keeps the scalp lubricated, preventing scalp irritations and itching common with dry skin.

Once you experience the benefits of these precious gifts from nature you will want to use them for life!
A FEW WORDS ABOUT AROMATHERAPY
Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils for physical and emotional benefits as well as beauty aids. Essential oils are derived from plants and plant components (herbs, flowers, fruits, seeds, bark, stems, roots and leaves).
The use of essential oils dates back some 6,000 years with its origin believed to be in ancient Egypt. Modern science has acknowledged the healing value of essential oils, and today aromatherapy is gaining in popularity by leaps and bounds throughout the world.
Methods of application include direct inhalation, diffusion, massage, bathing, and direct application.
Essential oils work on all levels -- physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Some of the ways in which pure essential oils can improve and maintain good health are:
- Increases cellular oxygen, which in turn provides more support to the immune system
- Delivers more oxygen and nutrients throughout the tissues
- Detoxifies the cells and blood
On the emotional/mental levels, pure essential oils can:
- Reduce stresses and promotes tranquility
- Help to overcome depression
- Ease anxiety
- Create and enhance certain moods
Essential oils are also used widely for their ability to purify the air. When diffused, they can:
- Increase atmospheric oxygen
- Inhibit bacterial growth
- Destroy odors from mold, smoke, and animals
- Remove toxins
- Fill the air with an aromatic scent
For those who are interested in learning more about aromatherapy, how to use oils, and which oils to use to obtain desired results, there are many excellent books on the subject. It is highly recommended to purchase an aromatherapy handbook or consult an aromatherapist before beginning your adventure with essential oils.
NOTE: Many aromatherapy products have been commercialized and contain synthetic chemicals, which severely alter the properties of the natural oils. In order to achieve maximum benefits, it is important to purchase 100% pure essential oils which have been tested for purity by a reputable supplier.
IS IT REALLY NECESSARY TO BUY 100% PURE ESSENTIAL OILS?
Only if you want to derive the full benefits afforded by oils, which have not been adulterated. Almost all aromatherapy products available in department stores have been altered by the addition of alcohol and/or other synthetic chemicals. This dramatically reduces the effectiveness of the oil. Anything less than pure simply will not give you the desired effect.
I THOUGHT AROMATHERAPY WAS ONLY TO CREATE A NICE FRAGRANCE AND MOOD. IS THERE MORE TO IT?
Absolutely. Essential oils reach the cells quickly, usually in less than 1/2 hour. Although we do not claim to replace the services of a medical professional, oils have been used for centuries to help people with a myriad of ailments. Oils work on the physical, emotional and spiritual level. See the descriptions of our oils on our website to learn about the diversity of these natural treasures.
HOW SAFE ARE ESSENTIAL OILS?
Very safe. However, as with any other type of treatment, certain safety measures exist. If you are pregnant, diabetic, epileptic, have high blood pressure or a heart condition, always consult the safety data on the oil. If in doubt, you can e-mail us and we will provide you with as much information as we have available.
It is also important to remember that essential oils are highly concentrated and should be diluted, especially when applying directly to the skin.
HOW DO I DILUTE ESSENTIAL OILS?
Use a carrier, or base oil. Any vegetable oil will work nicely. Some of the more popular ones include sweet almond, Jojoba, grape seed, canola and wheat germ. The following is a good rule of thumb for dilution purposes:
2 - 3 drops of essential oil to one tsp. of base oil
6 - 7 drops of essential oil to one tbs. of base oil
12 - 13 drops of essential oil to one ounce of base oil
After you use the oils by following this guide, you may want to increase the amount of essential oil, depending on your individual experience with the oil. Experiment to see what works best for you.
HOW DO I STORE ESSENTIAL OILS?
Pure essential oils should be kept tightly capped and stored in a cool, dark area. If you dilute the oil(s) with a base, you should take measures to keep the oil as cool as possible, as base oils can go rancid. Refrigerate your base oils after the first use. The exception is Jojoba oil, which stores very well when used as a base.
* Properly Stored pure essential oils can last for years.
HOW ARE ESSENTIAL OILS USED?
There is more than one way to use essential oils. The following are some of the most popular methods:
Diffusion: This is the most effective way of dispersing oils into the atmosphere of your home or office. This method is usually accomplished by using an atomizing diffuser, which propels a fine mist into the air without the use of heat. Because the oils are not altered through the use of cool air diffusion, maximum benefit is achieved.
Many essential oils can destroy bacteria, fungus and mold when diffused. They also provide increased "natural" ozone levels, which inhibits bacteria growth, and increases the amount of oxygen in the air. Diffused oils also help eliminate offensive odors and provide a fresh, natural fragrance. Most important is that diffusion is an excellent way to derive the emotional, physical and spiritual benefits that essential oils can offer.
Diffuse essential oils for 10-15 minutes two or three times per day.
Inhalation other methods of inhalation besides diffusion are:
(A) Direct inhalation: Place 1-3 drops of an essential oil into the palms of your cupped hands and breathe for a few moments. Many people use this form of inhalation to ease blocked sinuses, chest congestion and colds. Not recommended for asthma or allergy sufferers.
You can also use 1-3 drops of an essential oil in a bowl of hot water and inhale for about 10 minutes.
(B) Vaporizer/Humidifier: Use 3-5 drops of an essential oil. Of course, the cool air types are most effective, since heat reduces some of the oils' benefits.
(C) Fan/Vent: Place 2 or drops on a tissue or a cotton ball and attach to an air vent, ceiling fan, or even your auto's air vent.
Massage: Another extremely effective way of absorbing essential oils is through therapeutic massage. Essential oils are absorbed very quickly into the bloodstream via the skin, and their actions increase the effect of the massage itself.
Always dilute the essential oils with a carrier, or base oil, when applying to skin. A vegetable oil (sweet almond oil, grape seed oil, or wheat germ oil) is all good base oils. If you create enough massage oil for more than one application, it should be refrigerated between uses, as carrier oils can become rancid. If you want a base oil, which you do not have to refrigerate, Jojoba oil works well. (3-5 drops to one teaspoon of base oil is recommended)
Bathing: The use of essential oils for bathing has long been a method to enhance one's mood and to create a positive effect on the nervous system. The absorption of oils through bathing can also provide therapeutic benefits.
The recommended dose for bathing is 4-6 drops. To help the oils disperse well in the water, you may want to mix the oils in an unscented bath gel or liquid soap, or unscented bath salts/crystals.
Compresses: Often used for swollen joints, aches and pains. Fill a basin with hot water and add several drops of the essential oil you have selected for this purpose. Stir the water well, and then place a towel on top of the water. The towel will absorb the oils, which rise to the top of the water. Wring out the towel and place over the affected area. Cover with a dry towel. You may want to add a hot water bottle and cover with a third towel.
USEFUL INFORMATION FOR USING ESSENTIAL OILS:
1. Do not ingest.
2. Keep oils tightly closed.
3. Store in dark bottles. Keep away from heat.
4. Always dilute with a carrier oil. Remember that using more oil does not necessarily increase its benefits.
5. When using citrus oils, do not expose skin to direct sunlight or ultraviolet light, as it may cause photosensitization.
6. Keep out of reach of children.
7. Do not use essential oils in eyes, mucous membranes or inside ears.
7) Moor Mud Therapy / Treatment: Formed more than 30,000 years ago, Moor Mud is a complete nourishing matter containing over 800 plants with at least 380 having known medicinal value. Treatments remineralize, hydrate & exfoliate the skin leaving it with a vital, healthy glow.
8) Mud Treatment: Mineral-rich mud used to detoxify the body, loosen muscles, and stimulate circulation.
9) Spa: Means the "cure of water". It has transformed into wonderful treatments utilizing the benefits of sea and mineral water.
SMOKING
Cigarette smoking robs the skin of its vitality and potential for being smooth and attractive. The skin suffers from the deteriorative effects of carbon monoxide and nicotine in the circulatory system, depriving the skin tissue of much needed oxygen and vital nutrients. People who smoke have a depleted, pallid complexion and skin that wrinkles prematurely.
EXERCISE
People who are physically fit look good and feel good. A regular exercise program will help to lengthen your life, improve your appearance, build your self-confidence, reshape your figure and delay the aging process. Exercise also benefits the skin by helping to maintain a clear circulation, calming the nerves and promoting a deeper, more revitalizing sleep.
ALCOHOL
Alcohol can dehydrate the skin and impede circulation, thus robbing the skin of precious moisture and vital nutrients. It can lead to broken or distended capillaries, especially over the nose and cheeks. It also depletes the body of vitamins and minerals needed for a healthy complexion. Recent studies have shown that women are more susceptible to the ill effects of alcohol than men.
BEAUTY PRODUCTS
A good skin care program generally includes at least four products: a cleanser, masque, toner and moisturizer. The quality of the program depends on the quality of the products. Products with inferior ingredients can actually harm your skin by drying it out, irritating it or blocking the pores.
WATER
Water is essential for the hydration of the skin to keep it moist, soft, supple and clear. Loss of moisture from the skin is one main cause of wrinkles.
The average person needs six to eight glasses of clean, pure water each day. Hot weather and exercising require an increase in the amount of water needed. (Soda, tea, coffee, juice and alcohol can not substitute for water.) Water is a natural appetite suppressant. Water rids the body of waste materials.
REST
People are constantly on the go, but also constantly encouraged to be physically fit. However, it is rarely mentioned that to balance our busy active days, we also need enough rest and sleep. The skin will mirror a well rested body with vitality and a healthy glow.
NUTRITION
Eating a varied diet rich in whole, natural foods, balanced in protein, fats and carbohydrates; and void of chemicals, adulteration and refinement is something that will allow you to realize your potential as a physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual being. Certainly the health and beauty of your skin depends on it.
